Musician and illustrator Scott Hutchison has died at the age of 36
11 May 2018
We are devastated to hear the tragic news that Scott Hutchison, lead singer and songwriter for Frightened Rabbit, has died.

Police have confirmed the death of Scott Hutchison, after his body was discovered following his disappearance on Wednesday.

Scott, known also as an illustrator, was a close friend of poet Michael Pedersen. The pair collaborated on Michael’s second collection Oyster. Scott’s illustrations adorned the pages and the cover of the book, published in 2017.

Scott Hutchison was a Scottish singer, songwriter, guitarist, and artist. He was best known as the founding member – and primary songwriter – of the indie rock band Frightened Rabbit, with whom he recorded five studio albums. The band conquered the UK Top Ten Album Charts, enjoyed international success, and enthralled audiences the world over with poetic lyrics, powerful melodies, and formidable live shows. Hutchison studied illustration at the Glasgow School of Art and worked as a freelance illustrator.

Our thoughts are with his friends and family at this terrible time.
