Just Daft: The Comic Genius of Chic Murray

Chic Murray: A Celebration gathers together the off-beat comic genius’s finest sketches and clips onto one hilarious DVD compendium.

Chic Murray is a cult figure of alternative humour, a comedic pioneer ranked in the highest echelons of his art in the last century and admired around the world. Alternative humour had not been heard of when Chic Murray, a comic Colossus, bestrode the stage. His style was utterly original. He was unique, a ‘one-off’; his oblique, often perverse look at life was underpinned by a stunning sense of timing which likely originated from his accomplished, but little known, musicianship.

This collection of the very best of Chic Murray is an absolute must-have for all fans of one of the finest comedic talents to emerge from the British Isles.

Chic Murray is one of Scotland’s greatest comedians and a major influence in stand up. Born in Greenock in 1919, he rose through entertainment's ranks and performed, in 1956, in the Royal Variety Show at the London Palladium. He appeared in films such as Casino Royale (1967), Gregory’s Girl (1980) and You’ll Never Walk Alone (1984).
