Crime noir novelist Allan Guthrie has discovered a new group of fans in the fantasy writing world as he was recently shortlisted for an August Derleth Fantasy Award for Best Novel in The British Fantasy Awards 2008. The dark, violent nature of Allan’s third book Hard Man (Polygon 2007) has earned it a place alongside other horror titles, a twist even the author himself wasn’t expecting.
