This year marks the 25th anniversary of Aberdeen FC winning the European Cup Winners’ Cup. Sir Alex Ferguson's young team unexpectedly defeated Spanish giants Real Madrid in 1983, led to this glorious victory by one of the most successful captains the team has ever seen, Willie Miller.
In 2007 Willie published his autobiography,
The Don, which was rapidly snapped up by eager Aberdeen fans across the country. To mark this 25 year celebration the paperback edition of the book will be launched at the 2008 Word festival in May (click
here for further details) and Willie and his team-mates will all be there for the celebration of this monumental event in the history of Aberdeen FC.
