If you have a work of fiction, non-fiction or poetry that you strongly believe would suit our list, please post the following material to:

Please include in your submission:
• a covering letter
• a synopsis
• three sample chapters (or 10 poems)
• a short biographical statement about yourself
• a stamped, self-addressed envelope

Please note that due to the large number of submissions we receive, it may take us up to three months to reply to you.

We are not currently looking for children’s books, science fiction, romantic fiction or short stories.

We prefer submissions by post, however, if you would like to send yours via email, send a message describing your project to submissions@birlinn.co.uk.

Poetry submissions can be sent directly to poetry@birlinn.co.uk.
