The island of Mull is one of the jewels of the Hebrides. Characterised by spectacular landscapes, from the scree slopes of Ben More to the deep sea lochs that cut into the heart of the island, it also boasts a venerable history which dates back at least to the second millennium BC, and is home to a rich abundance of wildlife, both on land and in the sea. In this book, acclaimed Scottish photographer John MacPherson celebrates not only the extraordinary natural beauty of Mull and its neighbouring islands, but also provides glimpses into the lives of the people who make their home in this beautiful part of Scotland.
John MacPherson was born in Fort William. He has travelled and photographed extensively in Europe, Africa and America, and his work has featured in a large number of books and magazines.
Lorn Macintyre, who wrote the introduction to the book, was born in Argyll but moved to Mull as a teenager. He is a journalist, television researcher and scriptwriter.
