T.M. Devine and David Hesse

Tom Devine is the Sir William Fraser Chair of Scottish History and Palaeography at the University of Edinburgh, widely acknowledged to be the world's premier Chair of Scottish History, and also Director of the Scottish Centre of Diaspora Studies and Head of School. He is the author or editor of some two dozen books, including the international bestseller The Scottish Nation.
David Hesse was born in Switzerland and has lived and worked in Mexico, Russia and Switzerland. He graduated from the University of Zurich (History and Linguistics) and worked as a political journalist for Switzerland's largest newspaper, NZZ, for several years. His research interests include identity, nationalism, festive culture and migration.
