Brian R. W. Lockhart and Arthur L. McCombie

Brian Lockhart studied history and politics at the University of Aberdeen, and joined the staff of George Heriot’s School in 1968. In 1981 he was appointed Deputy Rector of The High School of Glasgow and in 1996 became Headmaster of Robert Gordon’s College, Aberdeen. He retired in 2004 but remains heavily involved in the wider world of education in Scotland. He is author of Jinglin’ Geordie’s Legacy, Robert Gordon’s Legacy and The Town School.

Arthur McCombie studied history at the University of Aberdeen; he became a teacher and then Principal Teacher of History at Elgin Academy before joining the staff of Aberdeen Grammar School in 1961, first as Principal Teacher of History then as Deputy Rector from 1973 to 1990, when he retired. He was a contributor to Aberdeen’s First School Board and A Century at Mannofield.
